A VERY unexpected surprise for NURSE Jami!!!

Hi!

I have been one stressed out girl over the past few weeks. My brain has been on overload preparing nervously for the surgery, thinking about taking the nursing board exam in order to start working, praying for Ben and stress with his job, etc.

Well, back in December I decided to sign up for the nursing exam (NCLEX) for this Jan 29th. I figured because of how well I was feeling during most of chemo that I could get studying done. Needless to say I didnt study and was planning on rescheduling the exam. The state rule is that you have to reschedule at least 24 hours in advance. I woke up Monday morning and went to the website at 8:15. Oh no! My exam was scheduled for 8am the next day and it wasn't 24 hours! I panicked! The test is $200 and I wasn't prepared. What an idiot! I called the state and pulled the cancer card and got no pity. I was so upset with myself.

By the end of the day, I decided to take the exam, telling no one (not even my mom!) so that if I failed, I could use the test as a VERY expensive practice test. I took the test. I hadnt prepared. This test was hard for the most prepared student. Tuesday I took the exam. It was very challenging. I was surprised with how much I remembered. But I was for certain that it wasnt enough.

Well...I found out today that SURPRISE....I passed!!! Unbelievable! I am SO shocked! God must have thought I needed a break and wanted to spare me from the stress of studying during an already hard time. What an unexpected answer to prayer!

Your official Registered NICU nurse,

Jami Nelson :)
