Counting My Blessings
This year I am extremely thankful for so many reasons, and I thought I would share some of them with you. I am thankful for my family, who raised me up knowing God and has been the best source of support I could imagine. I am thankful for my friends, old and new, who have rallied around me and worked countless hours on fundraisers for me and time spent with me. I am thankful for all of the strangers who dont know me, but who have reached their arms out to me with words of encouragement and sources of support. I am thankful for mashed potatoes and turkey and for all of the yummy goodness that the holidays bring! I am thankful for Ben, who has been handed the biggest challenge (hopefully) of his life, and yet embraces it willingly and reminds me with a big smile every day that everything will be okay.
I am thankful for hot chocolate, my favorite comfort food, which has brought me so much joy, especially at this time of year. I am thankful for stylish hats, which keep my bald head warm and make me look stylish. I am thankful for waking up and feeling healthy and well. I am thankful for the children in my life (the ones I babysit and my niece) who bring out the child in me and share so much fun and laughter with me. I am thankful for losing my hair because now I dont have to take so long to get ready in the morning and my hair is always styled! I am thankful for hot bubble baths, something that has always made me feel better since childhood.
I am thankful for a roof over my head, with the most patient and sweet roommate I could ever ask for. I am thankful for God, who speaks to me and comforts me day in and day out. I am thankful for chemotherapy and modern technology because now people have hope in a situation that used to be grim. I am thankful for Mia and Sydney, my sugar glider pets. I am thankful for my education and look forward to working as a nurse in the NICU. I am thankful for lollipops and popsicles. I am thankful for waking up in the morning every day and being alive, knowing that God is looking out for me and protecting my every move. And once again, I am SO thankful for all of you.
Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving
Jami
